These are above the type of accommodations which are advertised in the FROM price used in most advertisements sponsored by the cruise line or on-line agencies and may be upgraded for as little as $20 per person.  

The NCL JOY was built to accommodate the Asian market and sailed on its maiden voyage to Southeast Asia and the Pacific  at the end of 2017.Unfortunately, the market for the Asian clientele was reduced due to financial downturn in that part of the world coupled with an over abundance of cruise capacity and so, the ship was sent to drydock for a re-design for the American and European markets in 2019. The ship emerged totally refurbished and re-designed in the latter part of 2019. 2021 will be its inaugural season for sailings to Bermuda from the Port of New York. It is a Mega Ship of 167,725 gross tons with a guest capacity of 3,804 based on double occupancy. It features 18 restaurants including main restaurants and pubs as well as specialty restaurants  in addition to a large selection of Bars and Lounges. As part of the Free-Style Cruising experience where you can do what you want to do when you want to do it, the JOY offers  intimate Specialty Dining Venues which offer cuisines from around the world at a modest supplement.  Also aboard, a complete entertainment program featuring one of the largest RACE TRACKS at sea, Laser Tag, Aqua Parks for adults and children, a main pool and children's pool,  a complete activities program for infants, children and teens- each in their separate venue, BROADWAY PRODUCTIONS, several additional show venues featuring guest artists as well as shows written for the JOY. As visa and documentation requirements vary by country and are subject to change, all guests are urged to contact local immigration offices or the embassy or consulate for each country they will visit on their cruise to verify current entry requirements  It is the responsibility of the guest to obtain required visas and other documentation prior to sailing including vaccinations for infectious diseases. ONLINE CHECK-IN : Guests are requested to complete their ONLINE CHECK-IN form at www.ncl.com at least 24 hours prior to departure date. Guests who have not completed this online Check-In form at least 24 hours prior to departure date will be required to complete the check in process at the pier 2 hours prior to the departure time noted on their cruise documents.

The per person rate listed for this cruise is based upon two people occupying the stateroom. Single occupancy of cabin is generally available at a surcharge of twice the stated rate with a payment for one person with regard to taxes and fees. Some of our staterooms can accommodate more than 2 passengers. If you complete the booking form showing more than two guests in a room, you will be quoted the rate for the additional passenger(s) . Kindly note that, in the case of interior staterooms, it is possible that the cost of additional guests in the room might exceed the cost of the first two as the discount does not always apply to additional passengers. While this is necessary for families with children under 18, we suggest that no more than 2 adults in any one stateroom.

The stateroom upon which the quoted rates are based are in category IB. You may choose to upgrade to a Category IA stateroom at a surcharge of $20 per person. While both stateroom types are basically the same, Category A staterooms are usually more mid-ship and are generally on a higher deck.
