The NCL JOY was built to accommodate the Asian market and sailed on its maiden voyage to Southeast Asia and the Pacific at the end of 2017.Unfortunately, the market for the Asian clientele was reduced due to financial downturn in that part of the world coupled with an over abundance of cruise capacity and so, the ship was sent to drydock for a re-design for the American and European markets in 2019. The ship emerged totally refurbished and re-designed in the latter part of 2019. 2021 will be its inaugural season for sailings to Bermuda from the Port of New York. It is a Mega Ship of 167,725 gross tons with a guest capacity of 3,804 based on double occupancy. It features 18 restaurants including main restaurants and pubs as well as specialty restaurants in addition to a large selection of Bars and Lounges. As part of the Free-Style Cruising experience where you can do what you want to do when you want to do it, the JOY offers intimate Specialty Dining Venues which offer cuisines from around the world at a modest supplement. ONLINE CHECK-IN : Guests are requested to complete their ONLINE CHECK-IN form at www.ncl.com at least 24 hours prior to departure date. Guests who have not completed this online Check-In form at least 24 hours prior to departure date will be required to complete the check in process at the pier 2 hours prior to the departure time noted on their cruise documents.
The per person rate listed for this cruise is based upon two people occupying the stateroom. Single occupancy of cabin is generally available at a surcharge of twice the stated rate with a payment for one person with regard to taxes and fees. Some of our staterooms can accommodate more than 2 passengers. If you complete the booking form showing more than two guests in a room, you will be quoted the rate for the additional passenger(s) .
The stateroom upon which the quoted rates are based are in Balcony category BB which are located on decks 10, 11, and 13. They may be located forward, aft, or mid-ship according to the deck.

You may choose to upgrade to a Category BA Balcony stateroom at a surcharge of $20 per person with the exception of the July 4 sailing where the surcharge is $50 per person. The staterooms in each category are basically the same but the location is slightly better. Category BA Balcony staterooms are located on Decks 12,13,14 and 15 Mid-ship, forward and aft according to the deck. If you wish to book this upgrade, please indicate so on the booking form.

You may choose to further upgrade to a Club Balcony Suite (formerly called mini-suite) These suites are slightly larger than the BB and BA categories and mostly have larger Balconies. They are positioned mid-ship on Decks 10, 11 and 12. The surcharge for this upgrade per person is as follows: $150 on July 4, $160 on July 18 and August 1, $180 on August 15 and $190 on August 22. If you wish to upgrade to this category, please indicate category MB on the booking form.
